Story of Homewatch CareGivers of Ottawa

Welcome to Homewatch CareGivers of Ottawa! In home care is a very personal business so it’s important that you know who we are as we get to know you.

I’m Heidi MacKenzie, one of the owners of this business. I actually joined Homewatch CareGivers working for the former owner, Brian Levitan. When he was ready for retirement, I was able to purchase his business with my partners so that we could maintain a continuity of care for people in our community.

My position here is Director of Client Services, which is a perfect role for me as I formerly worked as an Executive Director at a retirement community and a personal support worker. I have a certification in pharmacology and medications. My favorite aspect of this position is the way our team works together to provide top-notch care to our clients and instill confidence in their families.

We might meet at your initial in-home assessment or if you are transitioning from a hospital stay, I might meet you in hospital. I’ll continue to be your bridge of communication between our caregivers and your family as we provide care, as well as with any medical professionals (occupational therapists, doctors, etc.) you engage with regularly.

Please give us a call to see if our services can be of help to you and your family.
